Terms and conditions
This is a translation. Only the German version is legally binding.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to the use of the software-as-a-service solution "PDF Splitter" (website pdf-splitter.ch and web app) of Agenturen Mani, sole proprietorship, owner: Sepehr Mani, Hinterbergstrasse 21, 6330 Cham, Switzerland (hereinafter "Provider"). The offer is aimed primarily at businesses.
2. Services
PDF Splitter uses artificial intelligence to detect document boundaries in PDF files, suggests file names and splits the files into individual documents. The splitting takes place in the customer's browser. The AI detection may be inaccurate; the results must be checked before further use and can be corrected in the page preview.
3. Account
An account is required for use beyond the free trial. Login credentials must be treated as confidential. The Provider may suspend accounts in the event of misuse or breach of these GTC.
4. Free use
Without an account, 1 PDF with a maximum of 10 pages can be analysed per day and internet connection. With a free account, a total of 3 PDFs with a maximum of 20 pages each can be processed. There is no entitlement to free use.
5. Plans, quotas and prices
The paid plans include a monthly page quota and a maximum number of pages per PDF:
| Plan | Price | Pages per month | Max. pages per PDF |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | CHF 49 / month or CHF 490 / year | 500 | 50 |
| Professional | CHF 99 / month or CHF 990 / year | 2'000 | 200 |
| Business | CHF 199 / month or CHF 1'990 / year | 6'000 | 500 |
One page corresponds to one page of an uploaded PDF, regardless of the number of documents detected. The quota renews monthly, including for annual subscriptions; unused pages expire. To protect against misuse, a fair-use limit on the number of analyses per month also applies (Starter 100, Professional 400, Business 1'200). Once the quota has been used up, no further analyses can be carried out until it renews, unless a larger plan is chosen.
Customers who took out the former "Unlimited" subscription at CHF 49 per month before October 2026 receive the quota of the Professional plan at their existing price.
All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) excluding VAT. The Provider is currently not subject to VAT; no VAT is charged. VAT liability is expected to begin on 1 January 2027. From then on, VAT will be charged in addition at the applicable rate; customers will be informed by e-mail in advance.
6. Payment
Payment is made in advance via the payment service provider Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected period (month or year). If a payment fails, Stripe retries the charge; if the payment ultimately fails, the subscription ends and the account is reset to free use.
7. Term, plan changes and cancellation
Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the current period, annual subscriptions with effect from the end of the paid year. Cancellation and plan changes are made in the customer portal. Periods already paid for are not refunded pro rata unless required by law.
8. Customer obligations
Customers only upload content they are authorised to process and, where personal data of third parties is involved, comply with the applicable data protection regulations. Technical limits must not be circumvented. Automated mass use via scripts is not permitted without an agreement.
9. Data protection and processing on behalf
Uploaded documents are not stored and not used for training AI models. Details are set out in the privacy policy. Insofar as the Provider processes personal data on behalf of the customer, the data processing agreement forms part of these GTC.
10. Availability
The Provider endeavours to ensure high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted accessibility. Maintenance work is announced where possible.
11. Liability
The Provider is only liable for intent and gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence, for consequential damage, loss of profit and for damage resulting from inaccurate AI detection is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Customers are themselves responsible for checking the results and for keeping their original documents.
12. Changes
The Provider may amend these GTC. Changes will be communicated to customers by e-mail at least 30 days before they take effect; if customers do not object or cancel, the changes are deemed accepted.
13. Final provisions
These GTC are governed exclusively by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Cham (ZG), unless mandatory provisions provide otherwise.
